The Band.

Since their first gig together in 2008, the Bird Dogs have steadily entrenched in the Texas country music scene, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the business. Their music delivers a powerful blend of Texas-country, gritty rock and three-part harmonies, with songs that reflect family, love, loss, and hope for the future.

Best known as co-host of the Morning Musers on KTCK The Ticket, George Dunham has always had music in his life. Through The Bird Dogs, George has found an outlet for his songwriting with an ensemble that brings reverberating life to his words and music. With Steve Porcari on electric guitar, Travis Behl on bass, Bryant "Pablo" Russell on drums and Craig McDaniel on vocals and rhythm guitar, this line-up consistently delivers exciting live performances to enthusiastic audiences locally and around Texas.

The Bird Dogs have played festivals and fundraisers with Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen, Cory Morrow, Prophets & Outlaws, Kacey Musgraves, Lee Ann Womack, Kevin Deal, Spur 503, The Tejas Brothers and Jason Boland, among others. They can be heard on KHYI 95.3 The Range, KFWR 95.9 The Ranch, and KXT 91.7. Their annual live music event, JubJam, is critically acclaimed and has raised thousands of dollars for local charities.

The Good Good.

Each member of The Bird Dogs loves playing, writing and creating music together.  And while making music is good, making a difference is better. In 2012, George made the decision to shift The Bird Dogs' focus fully to charity. While the band plays the occasional bar or festival, most gigs support good causes. The Bird Dogs anchor charity events like JubJam and Shoot 4 The Stars, and frequently team up with other bands for other worthy causes. It's good music, for the good.

The Bird Dogs have raised more than $750,000 for good causes.

MUSIC

OUR HOPE

Released in 2009, Our Hope was the Bird Dogs' first record and was produced by George's high school buddy, Martin Baird Studios.  The album features "Thought It Was You", which was the first Bird Dogs song to receive radio play, and  "One More Friday Night", a tribute to the Argyle Eagles football team. The title track "Our Hope" was written as a nod to the milestone every parent reaches as they release their kids into the world. As George says, "I hope the best for them, but won't always be there." I can't tell it all to you. You gotta learn it. I can't give it all to you. You gotta earn it. But our hope for you is to find your own way. -- Our Hope

fool hearted dreams

Fool Hearted Dreams was recorded at The Echo Lab and produced by Matt Pence. "Matt got us to think outside the box with new sounds and intricate production," says George. The album features tracks with deep personal meaning including the band's first social cause song, "Devil in the Well." "She" is a tribute to Steve Porcari's newborn daughter. And "Without You" is a tribute for a friend whose hard-fought battle with cancer left behind a husband and three kids. The title track, "Fool Hearted Dreams," reflects Georgio's characteristic optimism, "It's okay to dream big and hope for the best." My glass is always half full, I still have time, and my team always has a chance. I can hear the music and I've never been afraid to dance." -- Fool Hearted Dreams

THIS COULD BE IT

Released August 18, 2017, this record is a unique blend, unlike anything the Bird Dogs have ever done before. Featuring special appearances from notable artists including Jonathan Tyler, Matt Boggs (Prophets and Outlaws), not to mention a good old-fashioned gospel choir.
