serve denton
Serve Denton supports nonprofits that open doors for people to become self-sufficient.
"It all started when...
... back in 2012, I had the good fortune to meet Pat Smith. Pat is the founder of Serve Denton and his story is inspiring. Pat's father was a long-time resident of Denton. At his father's funeral, Pat was astonished by the attendance of so many who, unbeknownst to him, had been quietly, yet profoundly, helped by his dad. A light went off in Pat's head. He instantaneously knew he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and serve others. Shortly after, Serve Denton was born.
Serve Denton has grown into an umbrella for all the charities in Denton; offering space for those charities to office and support services for them to operate. Serve Denton founded and runs the Wheeler House which houses abused women and helps get them back on their feet through education, job placement and life services.
Each year, The Bird Dogs play a spring benefit concert and a Christmas benefit that raises funds for Serve Denton. I couldn't be prouder to be connected with such an inspiring and impactful organization." -- George Dunham
